Sharps CornField Area

In this view facing west, you can see the Backof Battery with the "Old Wire Road" running across the stop sign into the
woods. To the right of the stop sign is the view facing north into the woods. The direction is east where the car is and
on the right of the trees, just over the ridge is Sigel's 2nd position at Tour Stop 4. Behind the ridge is the bluffs in the
background, where Sigel posted his battery for the opening cannonade on the confederate camps in the cornfield,in
the early morning of August 10th. In between the two sets of trees, is tour stop 5, which is at the approximate position
of the Sharp Farmhouse. The Sharp Cornfield is in the field in front of you, which faces south and is the direction in
which Sigel attacked. To the right side of the picture is the "Backof Battery" position again. Notice the old wire
road running from the Sharp Woods down to the stop sign which crosses the main tour road.
