Tour Stop 6 "Guibor's Battery"--As you stop at this site, you will notice the gun positions where Captain Henry Guibor's Battery which dueled with the Federal artillery from the Confederate left flank. It fired through three Confederate assaults only to find on the fourth, the Federals had retreated. Henry Guibor was buried at "Calvary Cemetery" in St. Louis.
Tour Stop 6 "Guibor's Battery"--This view is to the southeast of the same gun in picture at top right, Price's Missouri State Guard troops were camped in the fields near the treeline.

Tour Stop 6 "Guibor's Battery"--As you look from this position, you can see the Union Positions on Bloody Hill, in the distant Treeline.
Tour Stop 7 "Bloody Hill"--After driving from Guibors battery Site at Tour Stop 6 you will come to Tour Stop at Bloody Hill. As you go down the trail to the right, this view shows the position at which the Federals could see the Confederates at the Confederate left flank. Although when you go to this site it is advisable to bring a good set of Binoculars for viewing the field. |
