"On the Battery"

December 7, 1862

This shows the battle scene near Elkhorn Tavern about 4:00pm that fateful day. It shows the Union 1st and 3rd Iowa Artillery, with their six-pound cannon firing on the 1st Missouri Brigade led by Col. Henry Little. The 40 x 60 original painting is on display in the Battlefield Visitors Center at the Pea Ridge National Battlefield in Pea Ridge, Arkansas.
